Notan Bootcamp

What’s a notan? It’s a very quick sketch that maps out the contrast, the dark and light patterns in the scene you’d like to draw or paint. I use them to clear away the clutter in the scene and focus on creating a great composition. Notan sketches can significantly improve your artwork!

Here's what you get:• A Two-Hour Class - you'll master the notan sketch and strong compositional techniques.• Six Scenes per class* - Draw along and ask me questions in real time as we go step-by-step through 6 common scenes, analyzing their potential and using notan to bring out the potential of each composition.
*(I'll be using different scenes for each class; sign up for both sessions to get lots of practice!)• Basic supplies – A pencil, a black marker, white paper, and a small viewfinder are all you need!• Great for artists working in every media from pencil to watercolor, acrylic, pastel, and oils.• This is an online class via Zoom; the link for your session will be sent upon registration. A recording of the class will be available to registrants.
